WTMD First Thursday Concerts | Towson University

Ra Ra Riot, Boy and Bear and Moon Taxi headline the 2016  WTMD First Thursday concert
slate

Ra Ra Riot, Boy and Bear, Moon Taxi, Fantastic Negrito, OJR, David Wax Museum and
others will perform as part of WTMD’s First Thursday Concerts 2016, presented by Ron
Howard & Associates of Re/Maxx Preferred.

Baltimore’s largest free, outdoor concert series returns to Canton Waterfront Park
on Thursday, May 5 with indie rockers Ra Ra Riot, the Seattle folk pop group Hey Marseilles
and blues-rock trio Moreland & Arbuckle. The Brewer’s Art is back serving beverages
to thousands of concertgoers, along with dozens of other vendors.

“Our First Thursday concert series has become the most-anticipated summer music event
in Baltimore,” said Scott Mullins, WTMD’s program director and interim station manager.
“We have a great line up this year of WTMD favorites that will certainly appeal to
the music lovers of Baltimore.”

After about a decade in Mt. Vernon Place, this is First Thursday Concerts’ third season
in the picturesque Canton Waterfront Park. Each show begins at 6:30 p.m. All ages
are welcome. No glass containers are allowed in the park.

WTMD is listener-supported public radio from Towson University. The station hosts
the award-winning Live Lunch concert series, as well as live broadcasts, art exhibits
and other events in its performance studio. The station has partnered with the Baltimore
Symphony Orchestra to present the Pulse concert series and with BWI Airport for BWI
Live.
