TU’s campus is ready to host the whole family during annual “Family Weekend”

“Family Weekend” is a series of events that allows TU students a chance to give their
families the Towson University experience

Towson University will have a few extra faces on campus this weekend during TU’s annual
“Family Weekend.”

Starting on Friday and lasting all weekend, there is something for everyone so Tigers
and their families can enjoy the TU campus and community: athletic events, dinner
programs, information sessions and the ability to experience firsthand some of the
campus services regularly provided to students.

The following are a few highlighted events from the weekend:


Family Network Meet and Greet
5:30 – 8:30 p.m. | The University Club at Towson University Mariott Conference Hotel

The Family Network Meet and Greet gives families the chance to meet with other TU family members, members
of the Tiger Family Network and the professional staff from the university.

Friday Night Family Movie, Root Beer Floats and Fillmore the K-9
6:30 p.m. | University Union Chesapeake Rooms | FREE

Come out for a movie, popcorn, and root beer floats and meet some of the Towson University
Police Department officers and Fillmore, TUPD’s favorite K-9 cop.

Autumn Sky Planetarium Show
7 p.m. | Smith Hall 521 | FREE

One of Towson University’s hidden gems is the Watson-King Planetarium. So kick off your weekend with a night under the stars. A telescope viewing will
follow the show.

Open forum with Towson University President Kim Schatzel
10-11:30 a.m. | University Union Chesapeake Ballrooms | FREE

Students, families and guests will get an opportunity to meet and chat with TU’s new
president Dr. Kim Schatzel.

The Largest Crab Feast in Maryland
3:30-6:30 p.m. | Towson Center | $50 for members of the Family Network, $60 for non-members,
$50 for students, and $30 for children 12 years and under

A Towson University Family Weekend staple, this crab feast and bull roast features
a festive atmosphere and some of the best food in Maryland. The menu includes steamed
crabs, pit beef, barbeque chicken, Maryland crab soup, macaroni and cheese, corn on
the cob, salad, fresh fruit and veggies, soda, iced tea, coffee and cake. Bottled
beer is available for those of legal age.

Towson Tigers Football vs. Stony Brook University
7 p.m. | Johnny Unitas Stadium | Ticket prices vary

Join the Roar as the Towson Tiger football team takes on Stony Brook in the friendly confines of Unitas Stadium. Tickets start at
$12, and as always student tickets are free. For more information, check out TowsonTigers.com


All Greek Council Brunch
9 — 11 a.m. | University Union, Potomac Lounge | FREE

Students from all across the Greek councils get together and introduce their families
to Greek Life at Towson University.

Student Health Services Wellness Stations
10 a.m. — Noon | Outside the Health and Counseling Center

Student Health Services welcomes all parents and students to a morning of wellness.
The wellness stations will feature a fruit-infused water bar, power snack making,
free five-minute seated massages, essential oil making and workout demonstrations.

Some events require registration, with some events featuring a registration fee.
