Commuter Students | Towson University

Permits are required to park on campus from 6 a.m. Monday through 3 p.m. Friday. Several
permit options are available for commuter students.

Core Parking Permit

Core permits are available to students who have earned more than 30 units who are
not living in campus residence halls on university property, whether the building
is managed by the university or an outside company.  Golden ID students are also eligible
to purchase a Core permit, but will not receive a discount on this permit type.

Core permits are valid in core campus in designated core and overflow (Stadium Lots only) parking areas at all times, and in faculty/staff areas outside
the restricted hours posted on signage. General services, resident life, and public
safety areas are restricted at all times.

Freshman Commuters (29 units or Less)

Freshman with fewer than 30 units may only purchase Overflow or Evening permits.

Non-Degree and other Commuters

Non-degree seeking students as well as other select groups of commuter students may
only purchase Overflow or Evening permits.

Overflow Parking Permits

Overflow permits are available to students with less than 30 units who are not living
in campus residence halls, including those managed by outside contractors. Some non-degree
seeking students who are officially part of the IIR, joint academic program, or Golden
ID students may purchase an overflow permit at a reduced rate. Retirees and alumni
with no other campus affiliation may also purchase an overflow permit.

In addition, Overflow permits will still be valid at the Stadium Lots near SECU Arena
and Johnny Unitas Stadium where signs state “Overflow All TU Permits Valid in This
Area.” Overflow permits are also valid in faculty/staff areas after 5 p.m. and on weekends, as posted on signage.

Evening Permits

Evening permits are available to students who are not living in the campus residence
halls, including those managed by an outside company such as Millennium Hall, Tubman,
West Village, Barton, Douglass Houses, West Village 2 and Marshall Houses.

Evening permits are only valid after 3 p.m. in “core” areas, all “overflow” parking areas (Stadium Lots) as posted, and in “faculty/staff” areas after the restricted hours posted on signage. If an evening permit holder needs
to park on campus before 3 p.m., they need to purchase a Visitor’s parking permit
from the ParkMobile App or the visitor paystation then park in a designated visitor
or overflow area (Stadium Lots). Ensure to have your license plate information upon
purchase for pay by plate option and purchase enough time to remain parked in visitor
area. An evening permit is NOT valid in visitor spaces at any time.

Stadium Lot Weekly and Monthly Parking Permit

Weekly and monthly Stadium Lot permits are available to any student not living in
campus residence halls, including those managed by outside contractors. Weekly and
monthly permits are non-refundable.
