Student internships can be pursued in each concentration offered by the department.
Internships provide students with opportunities to apply what they have learned in
the classroom to real workplace settings, allowing them to explore possible career
avenues while adding valuable practical experience to their resumes. The department
has a specific internship coordinator to assist students in sociology or anthropology,
and a separate internship coordinator for students in criminal justice. Students who
are interested in completing an internship in the department should visit the department
office for more information. They must also attend the preliminary information sessions
which convene each semester prior to the internship to begin the internship process.
Students can complete 3-6 course units in internship placements, at one or different
internship sites. Specific examples of recent internship locations include:
